A manufacturer of pressure sensitive labels has introduced a PET 48 gauge thin liner which is less than half the typical thickness for pressure sensitive labels.
The new liner uses a unique licensed finishing process allowing labels to be applied to a thin liner after die-cutting, meaning labels can ride on a much thinner liner and therfore resulting in less material use and less waste. The thinner liner also means 30 percent more labels can fit on the same size roll, reducing transportation and warehousing costs. The frequency of changeovers is also reduced and the deep die strikes mean that web breaks are eliminated, therey reducing process waste during labelling.
The liner is also 100% recyclable.
The new liner, branded as MICROLINER®, was developed by the Outlook Group of the USA.
The content in this entry has been obtained from publicly available information sources only (e.g. press releases, website and trade press articles) and is subject to completion of a validation process with the technology supplier.
